This is what our marketing department would call a lie.
Marketing department....who am I kidding!
Whooshtronics is a NFVMP (Not for very much profit) gaggle of rocket nerds who, by some miracle, have figured out how to use a soldering iron.
It exists solely as a means to distribute our electronics to all our rocketry buddies.
The background is that, over the years we've come up with a few electronic circuits that have worked well enough that other people have wanted to use them. In the past we'd just make a few up and give them away to our mates. If it were possible, we'd just keep doing that. Catch is, when you make electronic widgets, you end up with a lot of mates!
So, to keep things fair, we've started this little site where our mates can buy our circuits for what they cost to make+ the beer they would have bought us anyway.
When you factor in things like setting up this site, making production lots of boards, assembly costs, etc. we know we'll still lose a little bit, but we're happy with that, it's our way of giving back to the hobby we've enjoyed for so many years.
All the designs here are in the public domain. Do what you like with them. If you make anything here into a commercial product, it'd be nice if you credited the guys who did all the hard work designing it, and we reserve the right to pay out on you on the forums if you don't!
Hope y'all get something out of this site. The aim is to add more stuff as we find the time to manufacture it....
